'THE WORDS "I AM" ARE POTENT WORDS; BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU HITCH THEM TO. THE THING YOU'RE CLAIMING HAS A WAY OF REACHING BACK AND CLAIMING YOU.' ~A.L. KITSELMAN
No truer words have been spoken. Have you given much thought to the words you speak about yourself daily? I am...ugly, have no time, fat, always sick, done with this marriage/relationship/job/friendship or not worth it (whatever it is). This IS what you're claiming about yourself. Is this what you truly want to create in your life?
Words are powerful and we take them for granted like so many other things. It's time that we wake up to them and claim a better life for ourselves and model a better way for others. I've seen these words manifest themselves in lives around me. My sister, who passed 9 years ago, said for several years that she just wanted to die. There was nothing worth living for and she was not worthy of living. She died at the young age of 56. I've seen several people who have repeatedly said they were sick and tired of their jobs and done! Only to be laid off or fired before they were financially ready. Or friendships ended by another person and then be hurt because in the end they truly weren't wanting to lose that friend.
If you truly are done with a job then prepare for the next one. Get that resume updated, research where you want to apply and GO FOR IT! I know it's not easy but the more energy you put into living rather than complaining the better chances you have for what YOU want to create. And share what you want with others to get support behind you. You know who those people are.
One thing I have learned repeatedly is that no one can do life alone! And it's not as much fun either. We need the support of others to reach our goals and to move forward in life. Take a chance and be vulnerable, I think you'll be surprised at who is there to back you up. And if you feel safer sharing with a stranger email me, I will back you up!
So begin to notice the words you speak about your life and yourself. My daughter, who always inspires me, writes affirmations on her bathroom mirror so she sees them all the time. It's a great way to get started and keep the awareness that words can make all the difference!
