Reiki: The Immune System & The Research

We are living in a strange new world for a time aren't we? Some are adjusting and some are riddled with anxiety and confusion. There is a lot of information out there and I'm not here to try and sort it out as I am not the expert when it comes to this virus and the precautions. I'm listening to the CDC just like the rest of you.

At this time it is important to maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit. There are many ways of doing so while still practicing social distancing and Reiki is one form that works on all three levels.

It's a common known fact that Reiki assists the client to calmness and relaxation thereby alleviating stress. But it also encourages the strength of the immune system and promotes healing on an energetic level. I will include a link here that will take you to an article that explains several different research studies that support this. Some of these studies incorporated a hands on approach but some also incorporated the long distance approach. Both had positive results. And I can say from my experience within my practice that most of my sessions are long distance and there have been many successful benefits that have been achieved.

One such case, for example, was working on a client who was beginning chemotherapy who lived in another state. They had received one treatment prior to our first session. That treatment took them a full week to recover from. The day before they went in for their second treatment I did a session and completed another session the day of chemotherapy. Their recovery time was cut in half and we continued doing Reiki sessions throughout the course of their treatment plan which enabled them to continue working pretty much full time.

I'm not in anyway claiming that it is a magical cure or treatment for anything and everything, please don't misunderstand me. I'm saying that it is an additional tool that works hand-in-hand with so many other healing modalities including traditional western medicine. I strongly encourage clients to always listen to their medical team and Reiki becomes a compliment to whatever protocol their team recommends, if they are under a doctors care for a medical condition.

But Reiki is good for all things ranging from just feeling out of sorts to having a cold to stress to a sprained wrist to cancer treatment to pregnancy to assisting those who are ready to die. It runs the gamut! If you hadn't gathered by now I believe in what I do and love what I do. And right now I believe that it can be helpful for people to learn more about it and if they feel led, to receive the work.

What I can tell you is that I personally do agree that we all have a responsibility to ourselves and to others to practice what the experts are telling us to do. I am one of the fortunate ones that my business can be done completely long distance such as the Reiki. And the coaching can be done by phone or FaceTime or other forms of technology. So if I can be of assistance, please don't hesitate to contact me. And I know that financially times are getting tough out there so from now through April save $15 per session.
